Are you tired of watching Netflix at a maximum resolution of 720p? Want to enjoy your favorite TV shows and movies in stunning 1080p Full HD? Look no further than the Netflix-1080p extension for Chrome. With a total rating of 4.14 based on user reviews, this extension is a game-changer for Netflix enthusiasts.
Netflix-1080p is a free and open-source Chrome extension that allows you to force 1080p FHD playback on Netflix. Say goodbye to the limitations of 720p and embrace the crisp and detailed visuals of Full HD. But that's not all – this extension also gives you the option to enable 5.1 AAC playback for an immersive audio experience.
One of the standout features of Netflix-1080p is its ability to include AVCHi streams in the playback. By default, the extension forces 1080p AVCHi streams, ensuring that you get the highest possible video quality. And if you want to customize your Netflix experience further, the extension offers additional options in its settings menu.
With the "Use 5.1 audio when available" option, you can override Netflix's default AAC2.0 audio streams and enjoy 128kbps AAC5.1 audio. This is perfect for users with surround sound setups, as it allows you to fully immerse yourself in the audio experience of your favorite shows and movies.
Another handy option is "Automatically select the best bitrate available." By enabling this, you can always enjoy the highest quality streams, regardless of Netflix's perception of your internet connection speed. It ensures that you never miss out on the details and clarity that come with a higher bitrate.
For those using older computers, the extension offers the option to "Use VP9 instead of H.264." Decoding VP9 in software can be more efficient and faster than decoding H.264. If you notice any slowdown or dropped frames with 1080p AVC playback, checking this option can improve your streaming experience.
The Netflix-1080p extension is compatible with Chrome and is highly recommended by users. It has received positive reviews from satisfied users who have experienced a significant improvement in their Netflix viewing experience.
One user, Andre Milani Marcos, shares, "This extension forced Netflix to use H264 instead of AV1, which was causing problems for me. It works great!" Another user, Vinicius Petri Zaniratti, mentions, "The extension works flawlessly. It lets me play Netflix at a clearly better resolution than before. Can't be sure if it's higher than 1080p, but definitely at least 1080p."
However, it's important to note that not all users have had the same experience. Some users, like SOORAJ RZzPUROHIT, expressed disappointment, saying, "No effect at all, just wasted my time." And Karl H. points out that the extension doesn't bypass the framerate limit imposed by Netflix on Chrome.
Despite these mixed reviews, the majority of users have found the Netflix-1080p extension to be a valuable tool for enhancing their Netflix streaming experience.
In conclusion, if you're a Netflix enthusiast who craves the highest quality streaming, the Netflix-1080p extension is a must-have. With its ability to force 1080p FHD playback and 5.1 AAC audio, as well as the inclusion of AVCHi streams, this extension brings your favorite shows and movies to life like never before. Try it out today and elevate your Netflix binge-watching sessions to a whole new level!

Doubles size of subtitles
why not add the option to select the quality, it appears near the end of every episode so why not just add it as an option permanently
Não funcionando no Microsoft Edge Linux. Not working on Edge Linux.
Only solution I found for getting 5.1 AC3 sound over SPDIF on Ubuntu. Works out of the box, excellent!
Before, I can only watch 480p due to netflix DRM (which I read in a forum post that limits video quality if not using their proprietary application, and is also explain by Louis Rossmann in his video). Now, I can watch 1080p quality in netflix. So, ty for the extension. simple yet working correctly. like buying a plug n play switch. Before installing. Try watching a netflix videos and check the quality by pressing (CTRL + SHIFT + ALT + D) and look for "Playing bitrate". After that, install this. Refresh the page and check again. It should start playing at 1080p directly depending on your internet speed.
Doesn't work
When I install this extension, Netflix gives an error. I cant play any video. After removing this extension, Netflix plays at 720 maximum. How to solve this problem?
This app is amazing but unfortunately, surround channels stopped working so only Left, Right, Center and Sub is working. It would be amazing to get an update for full 5.1 surround.
I didn't even know Netflix was cheating its customers out of a half decent resolution and always thought my monitor was just bad or uncalibrated. What an eye opener.
